Are you more likely to give donations through a large Charity group (eg Salvation Army) or directly to a person through crowdfunding (eg, sites like gofundme or chipin)?

It depends on the circumstances.. If it's household goods are clothing I would be more likely to donate to the Salvation Army and I always donate some money during the Christmas Season by tossing change in the kettles.

But if I know a family or individual whose in need because of misfortune I have always donated to that cause too. I have also helped with many fundraisers for this cause.

I have always liked to help people... directly. And I have discreetly helped a lot of people in my life when I had more..... Now other than helping people with a bag of food... I have decided to just donate stickly to verifible causes.... I am so sick of frauds... and I swear they see the words... soft heart written on my head.

It depends on the situation-but I generally do it in person. I often donate to drives or money here and there to charities, but there's nothing like giving it to the person. I used to do a LOT of volunteering at my old church and I interacted directly with those I helped. It could be awkward, but so rewarding

I would do both but I find myself mostly doing large charities.
Good will, Salvation Army, Heart foundation, those cans that sit at gas station for local charities and stuff like that.

Other than dropping a few bucks in the kettle at Christmas, I give to smaller charities or individuals who I know need help.

For most donations, larger groups that I know are legit. If some family I know to be in need, then direct contribution. We had a family in town whose house exploded and they lost everything. That I know happened and that the need is real. I don't like to contribute to individuals or small groups online because of all the scams.

Today, I give to large charities and charities are know putting faces to the people they help so many see what the do to help people.

I've never used any crowdfunding website, not very familiar with them. I've usually given to larger charities through automatic payroll deduction programs on my paychecks when I worked, and also have individually to different groups or things as they came up.

I will give to charities who have proven themselves over time, like the Salvation Army. I donate goods to local thrift stores for organizations I trust. I also give to the needy in our community through our church. We don't have a lot of money, so we give as wisely as we can. I do volunteer when I can and share what I have with people in need if they can use it.
